Prof. Sun Kim has led the convergence of computer science and bioinformatics. Currently serving as a professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Seoul National University, he contributes to research and academic community building in bioinformatics and systems biology, while serving as an advisor to the Korean Society for Bioinformatics. Having served as the director of the Bioinformatics Institute at Seoul National University, he also served as the 11th director of MOGAM Institute for Biomedical Research, where he drove the strategic transformation into an AI-based drug development research institute and established the foundation for mid- to long-term research direction and operational framework. Prof. Kim received the NSF CAREER Award, gaining international recognition for his research capabilities, and was included in the Leaders in 1000 Technologies selected by the National Academy of Engineering Korea. Currently serving as a member of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea, he plays an important role in advancing bioinformatics-based technologies and nurturing talent, drawing on his research experience spanning both industrial research institutes and academia.

Prof. Jaewoo Kang is a researcher who has created internationally recognized research achievements in biomedical artificial intelligence and bioinformatics. Currently serving as a professor in the Department of Computer Science at Korea University, he leads the development of domestic and international academic communities as Vice President of the Korean Society for Medical AI and in major positions at the Korean Institute of Information Scientists and Engineers. Prof. Kang has demonstrated the practical competitiveness of his research by winning first place consecutively in world-renowned biomedical AI international competitions such as Dream Challenge, BioCreative, and BioASQ. His BioBERT research is recognized as the starting point of transformer-based biomedical language models and has recorded the highest citations among domain-specific language models. Currently, alongside academic research, he participates in technology commercialization as a CEO, connecting research outcomes to real-world applications.

Prof. Daehee Hwang is a researcher who has been at the forefront of elucidating disease mechanisms and advancing precision medicine based on bioinformatics. Currently serving as a professor at the School of Biological Sciences at Seoul National University and as director of the Bioinformatics Institute, he is also active as Vice President of the Korean Society for Bioinformatics. Having served as deputy director of the IBS Plant Aging and Longevity Research Center, he has led research on life systems. He has achieved scientific and technological accomplishments through research on elucidating the early onset principles of neurodegenerative diseases and presenting diagnostic and therapeutic targets for early-onset gastric cancer. Recently, through research on improved drug development using AI and big data, he conducts collaborative research between academia and industry, presenting the expandability of bioinformatics-based drug research.

Prof. Jinwoo Shin is an internationally recognized researcher in machine learning theory and probabilistic modeling. Currently serving as a full professor and designated chair professor at the KAIST Kim Jaechul Graduate School of AI, he plays a key role in the global AI/ML academic community as a NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR Senior Area Chair. His ACM SIGMETRICS Rising Star Award and Test-time Award demonstrate that his theoretical research achievements have received high academic recognition. He received the George M. Sprowls Award, given to the best doctoral dissertation at MIT EECS, proving his outstanding academic capabilities from the early stages of his research career. Currently, beyond academic leadership, he is also dedicated to research activities that connect research theory and practice through industrial research consulting.
